Eight incoming freshmen at Northwestern College—from California, Iowa, Nebraska and North Dakota—have been selected to receive Norman Vincent Peale Scholarships.
Northwestern College has named five professors as 2005 Lilly Faculty Fellows. The professors will each receive a grant of $3,000 to conduct research related to the theological foundation of vocation in the liberal arts as part of Northwestern’s Lilly Grant project, Vocare: Find Your Place.
Piet Koene, instructor in Spanish and the 2004 Iowa Professor of the Year, was honored at the Iowa Statehouse on April 12.

Student receives full-ride scholarship from Vanderbilt
Michael Schreuder has been awarded a full-tuition scholarship and fellowship to enroll in the Ph.D. in chemistry program at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn.
Over the past year, communication studies majors have completed internships from Alaska to Illinois and Minnesota to Tennessee.

Maggie Keelan a senior writing & rhetoric major from Lincoln, Neb., has been awarded a full-tuition scholarship to enroll in the Master of Divinity degree program at Boston University next fall.
