Athletic training student wins district scholarship
Heidi Te Brink of Durango, Colo., a junior athletic training and elementary education major at Northwestern College, has been selected to receive one of three $500 scholarships from the Mid-America Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA).
Dr. Michael Kensak, associate professor of English, and Dr. Joonna Trapp, associate professor of English, have been granted sabbaticals for the 2005–06 school year.
Dr. Randy Jensen will be working on the development of his tenure paper topic, “From Theistic Ethics to Christian Ethics (and Beyond?),” into an introductory philosophy text during a sabbatical.
Jeff Taylor has been granted a sabbatical to write a script inspired by the life of his mother.

Feenstra receives Lilly Grant to aid research
Dr. Jennifer Feenstra has received a Lilly Grant to aid the research she is conducting with four students on the effects of volunteering.
Three Northwestern College Spanish students served as interpreters for a church mission trip to Mexico during spring break.
Andrew Rorabaugh, a senior humanities major from Fort Collins, Colo., attended a liturgy conference at Yale Divinity School Feb. 24–27 and visited the graduate program at Yale Institute of Sacred Music.

Teams to participate in summer mission trips
Three Northwestern teams will seek to spread the gospel and serve others in the name of Christ this summer.
Mick Snieder, a junior political science and economics major and a member of Orange City’s City Council, was named an honorable mention winner in USA Today’s All-USA College Academic Team competition on Feb. 17.
