The endorsement enhances your teaching license to teach in early childhood integrated settings. Northwestern is the only college in Iowa that offers an online path to your Birth Through Grade Three Inclusive Settings Endorsement that meets requirements for the state of Iowa.
Mild/Moderate (K-8) or (5-12) Endorsement
The special education endorsement, Instructional Strategist I prepares you to recognize and understand disabilities in students of various ages as well as the psychological factors that affect these students in grades K-8 or 5-12.

The special education endorsement, Instructional Strategist II prepares you to address the basic foundations of special needs and topics such as transition methods for students, communication between parents and teachers, and assessment.
The Principal and Supervisor of Special Education Endorsement program can be completed seperately or in conjunction with a M.Ed. in Administration to prepare you for a principal or supervisor of special education position. The program is fully accredited and leads to principal certification in the state of Iowa.
The computer Science Endorsement equips you to teach grades K-8 and/or 5-12 computer skills. By completing this graduate-level endorsement, licensed teachers are authorized to teach selected computer science and computer programming courses.
The coaching endorsement program leads to a Coaching Endorsement for educators to add to their teaching license and meets requirements for the state of Iowa. For those who wish to coach but do not have a teaching license, choose the Coaching Authorization program.
