Avery speaks at international business conference
Dr. Michael Avery spoke at the October meeting of the Academy of International Business, Northeast chapter, in Smithfield, R.I.

Board approves next step in planning for new learning commons
The Northwestern College Board of Trustees, meeting on campus Oct. 4-5, authorized the college administration to move forward with the next step in planning for a new learning commons.
Dr. Laird Edman is working with two professors at the University of Minnesota on a test of critical thinking.
Jeff Barker, professor of theatre and speech and director of worship at Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City, Iowa, led three worship workshops on campus during September.
Dr. Carl Vandermeulen, professor of English and communication studies, is on sabbatical for the 2004–05 academic year.
