Northwestern selects architect for learning commons project
Northwestern College has selected Cannon Moss Brygger and Associates (CMBA) of Sioux City, Iowa, and Grand Island, Neb., to provide architectural services for the new learning commons project.

Northwestern theatre presents new version of The Odyssey
A premiere retelling of Homer’s "The Odyssey" was presented by Northwestern theatre Nov. 19-20 and Dec. 1-4 in the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center.
Dr. Scott Monsma gave a presentation on “Fragmented Women, Destined for Equality” to the faculty of his alma mater, Pennsylvania’s Geneva College, in November.
Michael Andres spoke at the annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society, held in San Antonio in November.
Piet Koene, instructor of Spanish, has been named Iowa Professor of the Year for 2004 by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

Teacher education program reaccredited by state
Northwestern College’s teacher education program has been officially reaccredited by the Iowa Board of Education through 2009-10. Evaluators visited the campus last fall.

Students and faculty help monitor water quality
Students from Dr. Todd Tracy's ecology classes and Terra Nova, Northwestern’s ecology club, are participating in the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ IOWATER program.
Northwestern College’s education department has been assisting the Iowa Department of Education in a pilot project that will eventually make each Iowa college teacher education program’s curriculum available online.
