Northwestern College theatre professor Jeff Barker has recently published a book, “Sioux Center Sudan: A Missionary Nurse’s Journey,” about Sioux Center native Arlene Schuiteman.

Northwestern College’s Symphonic Band will present a movie-themed concert, “Lights, Camera, Action!” on Friday, Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel.

High school students are invited to participate in the second annual Living Your Faith (LYF), a one-week campus experience hosted by Northwestern College June 24–29.

The musical “Next to Normal” will be presented by Northwestern College theatre Feb. 15 and 22–24 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 17 at 2 and 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Cambria Kaltwasser, assistant professor of religion at Northwestern College, presented a paper at the Los Angeles Theology Conference on Jan. 19, held at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif.

The Northwestern College Alumni Association will host its 35th annual Scholarship Auction on Saturday, Feb. 10.

Northwestern College’s Symphonic Band has been selected as the state’s only small-college band to perform at the Iowa Bandmasters Association conference this coming May in Des Moines.

Northwestern College theatre professor Jeff Barker and the college’s nine-member Drama Ministries Ensemble (DME) will present and perform at the Calvin Symposium on Worship Jan. 25–27 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

High school juniors and seniors interested in theatre are invited to Northwestern College Theatre Preview Days on Feb. 23 and 24; activities start at 10 a.m. on Friday and continue through Saturday morning.

The Northwestern College International Club will host its annual Cultural Fair on Saturday, Jan. 27.
