Area residents are invited to several events that will take place on Northwestern College’s campus during Justice Week, Jan. 15–19

Northwestern College will grant sabbaticals to two of its professors during the 2018–19 academic year. Dr. Juyeon Kang, professor of music, was awarded a yearlong sabbatical; Dr. Sara Sybesma Tolsma, professor of biology, will spend the spring 2019 semester on sabbatical.

Dan Laaveg, a 2007 graduate of Northwestern College who is pursuing a doctorate in organ performance at the University of Iowa, will present a guest recital on Friday, Jan. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel.

A retrospective of artwork by longtime Northwestern College art professor John Kaericher will be on display in the college’s Te Paske Gallery Jan. 9 through Feb. 23.

“Wit,” a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama about the final days of a literature professor suffering from cancer, will be on stage in Northwestern College’s Allen Theatre Friday, Jan. 12, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 13, at 2 and 7:30 p.m.

Northwestern College’s online Master of Education degree in early childhood recently received a top-10 ranking for best degrees of its kind.

Northwestern College will host the fourth annual Your Future at Work event, a career opportunities fair for all Sioux County sophomore high school students, on Friday, Jan. 5.

Northwestern nursing students had the opportunity to collaborate with Promise Community Health Center of Sioux Center, Iowa, on studying patient health education.

Northwestern College directing students will present eight short plays Wednesday, Dec. 6, beginning at 5:45 p.m. in the England Theatre of the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center.
