Northwestern College's Symphonic Band to tour

Northwestern College Symphonic Band membersNorthwestern College’s Symphonic Band will perform in South Dakota and Nebraska during its spring tour, April 12–15. For performance times and details, visit www.nwciowa.edu/band-tour.

The concert will include traditional wind band repertoire, marches, and musical theatre and movie score pieces, including “Only Light” by Aaron Perrine; “The Crosley March” by Henry Fillmore; and “Selections from ‘Phantom of the Opera’” with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and arranged by Warren Barker. The ensemble will also perform “First Suite in E Flat” by Gustav Holst and “Lux Aurumque” by Eric Whitacre, among other selections.

The 47-member Symphonic Band is directed by Dr. Angela Holt, assistant professor of music at Northwestern. The ensemble has performed across the U.S. and internationally.

The band will perform its touring concert in Northwestern’s Christ Chapel on Friday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m.
