High school juniors and seniors interested in theatre are invited to Northwestern College Theatre Preview Days on Feb. 23 and 24; activities start at 10 a.m. on Friday and continue through Saturday morning.

The Northwestern College International Club will host its annual Cultural Fair on Saturday, Jan. 27.

Dr. Rebecca Hoey, dean of the Northwestern College graduate school, recently published an article on online teaching pedagogy in the Online Learning Consortium’s leading journal, OLJ.

Dr. Rebecca Koerselman, assistant professor of history at Northwestern College, presented a paper at the American Society of Church History’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 5.

Northwestern College will grant sabbaticals to two of its professors during the 2018–19 academic year. Dr. Juyeon Kang, professor of music, was awarded a yearlong sabbatical; Dr. Sara Sybesma Tolsma, professor of biology, will spend the spring 2019 semester on sabbatical.

Dan Laaveg, a 2007 graduate of Northwestern College who is pursuing a doctorate in organ performance at the University of Iowa, will present a guest recital on Friday, Jan. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel.

A retrospective of artwork by longtime Northwestern College art professor John Kaericher will be on display in the college’s Te Paske Gallery Jan. 9 through Feb. 23.

“Wit,” a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama about the final days of a literature professor suffering from cancer, will be on stage in Northwestern College’s Allen Theatre Friday, Jan. 12, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 13, at 2 and 7:30 p.m.
