Theatre student headed to Kennedy Center competition
Elizabeth Grim, a senior theatre major, won the Barbizon Design Award for her scenic design for “James Joyce’s The Dead” at the Region Five Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF). She will compete in the national KCACTF in Washington, D.C., in April.

Student gives poster presentation of summer research
Amy Vander Holt, a senior psychology major from Parkersburg, Iowa, gave a poster presentation at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology conference in Memphis Jan. 25-27.
Dr. Juyeon Kang, assistant professor of music at Northwestern College, has been selected to receive the college’s $10,000 Endowed Research Fellowship for 2007.
Publications produced by Northwestern's public relations office have been recognized in the 2007 Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District Six awards competition.
Dr. Laird Edman, associate professor of psychology, presented a full-day workshop on teaching critical thinking to the faculty of Husson College in Bangor, Maine, on Jan. 3.
Dr. Ann Lundberg, associate professor of English, has been awarded two grants to aid research she is conducting during her sabbatical this school year.

Kinsinger speaks at youth ministry conference
Dr. Mitch Kinsinger, associate professor of religion and Christian education, served as a co-presenter at the biennial international conference of the International Association for the Study of Youth Ministry. The conference was held in Cambridge, England, Jan. 3–6.
Northwestern will hold a ceremony of dedication and open house for its new nursing arts laboratory on Friday, Jan. 12, at 4 p.m. The facility is located in the former obstetrical unit of the Orange City Area Health System’s downtown campus.

Music prof to guest teach at Russian seminary
