Barker speaks on ancient Israelite dramas
Wednesday, April 11, 2007
Jeff Barker, professor of theatre and speech, has recently been active in speaking about ancient Israelite dramas.
Barker and Dr. Tom Boogaart of Western Theological Seminary led workshops at the Calvin Symposium on Worship in January in Grand Rapids, Mich. In March, Barker spoke at North American Baptist Seminary and at Augustana College, both in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Barker and a group of Northwestern students and faculty traveled to New York City in April to participate in the professional creation of a demo CD of the music from And God Said, the musical created by Barker and Broadway composer Ron Melrose. The artists hope the CD will encourage churches, schools and theatres to be further drawn to performing the Bible.
