Four Northwestern College students were selected for competitive off-campus research and study programs this summer.

Recent Northwestern College graduate Wyatt Waage, a theatre major from Vermillion, South Dakota, placed second nationally for sound design at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) competition on May 21.

Northwestern College will host a theatre camp June 20–23 for high school students interested in a variety of roles in theatre.

The Northwestern College theatre department will present Anton Chekhov’s “The Cherry Orchard” April 22–23 and 28–30 in the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center’s Allen Theatre.

Northwestern College students will present their annual dance concert, RUSH, in the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center during six performances in March. Shows are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, March 24 and 25, at 7 and 9:30 p.m., and Saturday, March 26, at 4 and 7 p.m.

Two Northwestern College theatre students received national recognition at the Region Five Kennedy Center College Theatre Festival (KCACTF), which was held virtually Jan. 16–22.

The Northwestern College theatre department will present the musical “Little Shop of Horrors” Oct. 28–30 and Nov. 4 and 6 in the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center’s England Theatre. The show will begin at 7:30 each of those evenings; there will also be a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Nov. 6.

Northwestern College has awarded sabbaticals for the 2021–22 academic year to two longtime professors: Dr. Robert Hubbard, theatre, and Dr. Laird Edman, psychology.

Northwestern College’s production of “Jabberwocky,” a children’s play based on a well-known “nonsense” poem by author Lewis Carroll, won multiple awards at the 2021 national Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

Northwestern College will host a theatre camp July 5–8 for high school students interested in a variety of theatrical roles.
