Edmans write article on emotional intelligence

Dr. Laird Edman, associate professor of psychology, and his wife, Sally, Northwestern’s director of counseling services, have had an article accepted for publication by the Journal of the National Collegiate Honors Council.  It will be published in the winter 2005 issue.

The article, “Emotional Intelligence and the Honors Student,” reviews the idea of emotional intelligence, debunks some of the myths and overstatements in the popular press about emotional intelligence, and reports on research the Edmans have done on the relationship between emotional intelligence and honors program participation.
