Residency requirement

Students who transfer 30 or more credits to Northwestern must complete the residency requirement by taking their last 30 credits at Northwestern. (Note: A minimum of half of the courses comprising an academic major, excluding cognates, must be completed in residency.)

Exceptions

Exception to this residency requirement is made for students majoring in medical technology and students in the pre-professional programs of dentistry, medicine, optometry, physical therapy and veterinary medicine, where the professional school will accept students after three years, provided their undergraduate institution will award them a B.A. following completion of their first year in the professional program.
