Psychology major wins award at social science conference
For the second year in a row, a Northwestern psychology major has been honored for presenting the best student paper at the Siouxland Undergraduate Social Science Research Conference.
Dr. Ruth Daumer, associate professor and chairperson of the department of nursing, has been a presenter at two recent scholarly conferences.
Northwestern will award Bachelor of Arts degrees to 281 students during commencement on May 10.

Twenty-two students to participate in summer missions
Twenty-two Northwestern students will spend their summer on short-term mission experiences in 14 different countries as members of the college’s Summer of Service team.
Jamey Durham, assistant professor of communications, will direct a new movie that will be shot in the Orange City area this summer.
Dr. Dan Young, associate professor of political science, contributed a chapter to a recently published book.
Adjunct professor Mike Anderson wrote and directed a new independent film, "Dave's 16th," which premieres in Orange City April 25-May 1.
Joey Earl Horstman, a 1987 Northwestern alumnus and author of “Praise, Anxiety and Other Symptoms of Grace,” will visit NWC April 30 and May 1.
Bob Reynen, director of church relations, died on April 19 after suffering from brain cancer.
