The article is entitled “Christian Vocation: Defining Relations With Identity Status, College Adjustment and Spirituality.” Based on a study of nearly 200 students at Northwestern, the article cited a correlation between a greater understanding of Christian vocation and both identity development and greater spiritual vitality.

Feenstra, a social psychologist with research interests in social support and volunteering, joined Northwestern’s faculty in 2003. Her research has been published previously in Teaching of Psychology and the Journal of College Student Development, and she has made presentations at the annual meetings of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Personality and Social Psychology.

Feenstra earned a doctorate in psychology and two master’s degrees, all from the University of New Hampshire. She received a bachelor’s degree at Calvin College.

Brouwer, originally from Inwood, Iowa, is pursuing a doctorate in health psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
