Van Es presents at English teachers' convention
Kim Van Es, instructor in English, presented "The Reality of Grammar Instruction" at the Iowa Council of Teachers of English convention.

Religion students witness Christian community development in Sioux Falls
Students in the Christian Witness course participated in a field trip to Sioux Falls to see Christian community development in action.
Barbara Turnwall, assistant professor of English, will receive the Distinguished Service Award from the Iowa Council of Teachers of English on Oct. 2.

Josselyn-Cranson publishes article in Worship Magazine
Dr. Heather Josselyn-Cranson, associate professor of music and director of music ministries, is the author of an article published in the September 2009 issue of Worship.
Dr. Robert Brabenec, professor of mathematics at Wheaton College, will be a guest speaker in chapel Friday, Oct. 9.
Author Tim Bascom will kick off Northwestern’s 2009–10 Deep Song Reading Series on Sept. 28.
Musician Ken Medema will be a guest speaker and performer in Northwestern College’s chapel services on Sept. 29 and 30.
