A Northwestern student teacher helps students during her experience in Denver.

Classroom experience

The more experience you have observing and acting as a teacher, the more confident and effective you’ll be when you land your first teaching job. That’s why Northwestern’s education program gets you in classrooms early and often, starting during your first year in the program.

Nearly every education class includes a field experience with students in area K-12 schools or public libraries, so that by the time you are given a student-teaching assignment, you’ll already have spent more than 100 hours in educational settings.
