The ensemble will also present three movements from Paul Hindemith’s “Sonata for Brass Quintet,” three movements from Victor Ewald’s “Symphony for Brass, Op. 5,” Jean Baptiste Arban’s “Fantaisie Brillante,” and “The Saints’ Hallelujah,” arranged by Luther Henderson. The quintet will close the concert with a rendition of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

The Central Iowa Brass Quintet is made up of musicians who have earned graduate degrees from institutions such as the New England Conservatory and the University of Illinois. They include members of the Des Moines Symphony and Des Moines Metro Opera, while others have performed with the Boston and St. Louis philharmonics. The members are James Bovinette and Mathew Guanitz on trumpet; Casey Maday, trombone; Bret Seebeck, horn; and Michael Short, tuba.
