Northwestern College senior Emily Laackmann will present a clarinet recital on Sunday, April 3, at 3 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
Laackmann is a music major from Doon, Iowa, and is a member of Northwestern’s Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Chamber Orchestra and Woodwind Quintet. In addition to clarinet, she also plays tenor saxophone.
Laackmann will perform a variety of pieces during her recital, including “Concertino” by Giuseppe Tartini, arranged by Gordon Jacob; movements I and III from “Concerto No. 1, Op. 73,” by C.M. von Weber; and "Jazz Variations on a Theme of Paganini” by Michael Garson.
“I am looking forward to sharing what I learned over the past two and a half years with fellow students, faculty, family and the community,” says Laackmann.
