Janelle Phinney earned a Master of Art and Religion degree from Yale University, Yale Divinity School, and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in music history.
Janelle is a performer, accompanist, teacher and church musician. She has held collaborative roles—from choral to student recital to professional concerts—in many communities. She served as an adjunct faculty member at various colleges and as a private piano teacher for students of all ages. The founder of Sempre Piano School in Canton, Ohio, Janelle is involved in church music as an accompanist, vocalist, cantor, choral conductor and liturgist. She is currently employed at the Sioux Center Library and is an adjunct instructor and staff accompanist for the Northwestern College music department.
