Psychology majors present at conference

Three May graduates of Northwestern College and a senior have been selected to give poster presentations at the Association for Psychological Science convention May 22–25 in San Francisco.

Malea Beeson, a 2014 psychology graduate from Orange City, will present “Correlates of Gender Ideology in Religious Female College Students.”

Kate Eick, a senior psychology major from Bismarck, N.D., and Ranell Rowenhorst, a 2014 psychology graduate from Orange City, will present “Counterintuitiveness and Memory for Theological Concepts.” They worked with Dr. Laird Edman, professor of psychology, on the research, along with Cortney Repp, a sophomore psychology major from Hagerstown, Md., and 2014 psychology graduates Shannon Gier of Crestwood, Ill.; Rachel Muilenburg of Orange City; Evan Stoesz of Eagan, Minn.; and Nathan Walburg of Hartley, Iowa.

Amanda Kirsch, a 2014 psychology graduate from Clarinda, Iowa, will present “Self-Efficacy, Collective-Efficacy, Emotional Intelligence, and Positive Affect Predict Educators’ Job Satisfaction.”
