Northwestern trustees approve 2009-10 budget
Northwestern’s 2009–10 budget will feature a nearly two percent reduction in tuition, room and board for incoming students. The budget was approved at the spring Board of Trustees meeting.
Randy Van Peursem, science support services professional, has been named the 2009 recipient of the college’s Staff Recognition for Inspirational Service Award.
Northwestern College will give back to the Orange City community through its Day of Service on Saturday, April 25.
Dr. Richard Leo Enos, professor of English at Texas Christian University and a leading scholar on the history of rhetoric, will be a guest speaker at Northwestern College April 27 and 28.
Northwestern's Symphonic Band will present a concert with the Le Mars Community High School Band on Friday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel.
Over 90 singers will compete in the Lewis and Clark Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing student auditions at NWC on April 25.

Heritage Singers to participate in Messiah performance
Northwestern's Heritage Singers will join the Sioux County Oratorio Chorus and a chamber orchestra to perform Handel’s Messiah on Saturday, May 2, in Sioux Center.
Jared Belden, a 2003 Northwestern alumnus, will present a reading of his poetry on Sunday, April 26.
Northwestern College's computer programming team is preparing to compete with 99 other teams in Stockholm, Sweden, at the Association for Computing Machinery International Collegiate Programming Contest April 18–22.
Northwestern will host the Turn Down the Music Tour, featuring Christian musicians Shane & Shane and Matt Maher, with speaker David Nasser, Monday, April 27. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in Christ Chapel.
