Education Placement Coordinator (part-time)

The education department at Northwestern College welcomes applications for a part-time (25 hours per week during the school year) placement coordinator for education programs and endorsements. In this role, you will collaborate with teacher candidates across Iowa and partner with school districts dedicated to fostering their success. A crucial role in the operation of teacher preparation, the placement coordinator will work closely with program directors and staff to promote and secure all student teaching placements. This position administers correspondence with school districts, school personnel and students; placement of students; ongoing monitoring of student teaching placements; coordination with assigned faculty; management of the online learning community ensuring gates into the program are maintained; and other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree (an additional two years of related experience will be accepted in lieu of an associate’s degree).
  • At least one year of office support or related experience. 

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of student clinical placements within PK-12 settings.
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment subject to limited supervision requiring independent decision making.
  • Thorough ability to communicate with a wide variety of people in a precise and professional manner.
  • Ability to utilize college software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
