Northwestern grad to speak in chapel

Jessica (Regan) Knecht, a 2008 Northwestern College graduate who operates a personal training business in Omaha, will speak in the college’s chapel services on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 11:05 a.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 10:05 a.m. The public is welcome to attend the sessions in Christ Chapel.

Knecht graduated from Northwestern with a degree in public relations and a concentration in cross-cultural missions. During her time at Northwestern, she was a track and field team captain and MVP who earned NAIA All-American honors. She participated in Spring Service Projects and ministered in Greece as part of the Summer of Service program.

Her career has included sales, marketing, graphic design, coaching, retail, college admissions, nonprofit outreach and community organizing. Knecht and her husband, Adam, are both certified personal trainers and established Fortitude Performance, a training business, in 2010. They will be opening a new gym later this year.

Knecht is appearing under the auspices of the Ronald R. Nelson Scholars and Artists in Residence Program, which seeks to inspire students with scholarship that encourages peace and justice. The program is named in honor of Ron Nelson, a history professor who taught at Northwestern from 1974 until his death in 1985.
