Prof elected to state association board

Ann Vander Kooi Minnick, assistant professor of communications at Northwestern College, has been elected to the executive board of the Iowa Communication Association.
Minnick will serve a three-year team as an at-large member. Board responsibilities include overseeing the association, planning its annual conference and reviewing its journal.
Part of the National Communication Association, the state organization seeks to unite people with an academic or professional interest in all disciplines of communication and the performing arts at all educational and professional levels.
A member of Northwestern’s faculty since 2007, Minnick directed community relations for the Orange City Area Health System for eight years. She also worked in public relations and marketing for hospitals in Sioux Falls, S.D.; Iowa City, Iowa; and Grinnell, Iowa.
