Northwestern/Dordt student art exhibit on display at NWC's Te Paske Gallery

Students from Northwestern and Dordt colleges will display their artwork in Northwestern’s Te Paske Gallery Nov. 27 through Dec. 8.

A public reception is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, in the gallery, which is located in the Korver Visual Arts Center.

Three Northwestern College students will choose pieces for the show from among Dordt’s artwork submissions; three Dordt students will choose pieces from among the entries by Northwestern students. Northwestern’s student jurors are seniors Camille Visser from Archer, Iowa; Ya-Wen Liu from Taiwan; and Shelby Maznio from Buffalo, Minn. The jurors from each school will speak about their selections during the Dec. 4 reception.

The exhibit provides students with the opportunity to interact with peers from another institution and to become involved in the curatorial process. Artwork can be any medium: ceramics, computer art, drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking or sculpture. The only requirement is that it must have been made while the student was attending Northwestern or Dordt.

The Korver Visual Arts Center is located on Highway 10 at 214 8th Street SW in Orange City. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to midnight Sunday.
