Tom Truesdell is the director of academic support and coordinator of Writing Across the Curriculum at Northwestern College. He also teaches a section of the First-Year Seminar and courses for the English department. A Northwestern graduate, he served as the writing center specialist at the College of Lake County in Illinois and as a graduate assistant in the DePaul University Writing Centers. His research addresses both writing center and composition theory, although he is interested in almost anything that deals with writing, language and literacy. Tom received a master's degree in writing theory and pedagogy from DePaul University and a doctorate in composition and TESOL at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
