The Gray Havens to perform at Northwestern College

The Gray Havens, a husband/wife pop-folk duo whose artistry draws from such influences as C.S. Lewis and JRR Tolkien, will present a free concert at the Hub in Northwestern College’s Rowenhorst Student Center at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15. The band will also perform in that morning’s chapel service at 10:05.

Dave and Licia Radford have been performing as The Gray Havens since 2013, appearing in concert with musicians such as Cindy Morgan, Ginny Owens and The Oh Hellos. Originally from the Chicago area but now residing in Nashville, the group is known for its poetic imagery and richly textured compositions.

The Gray Havens’ third studio recording, “Ghost of a King,” is slated for release April 8. The album focuses on the human condition of longing.

As a high school student, Dave Radford made the top 20 on season five of “American Idol.”
