Mechanical-Civil Engineering Faculty
Northwestern College seeks an ambitious and experienced faculty colleague to join its new undergraduate program in engineering. Main duties of this position include teaching introductory to advanced courses in mechanical/civil engineering as well as foundational engineering courses; conducting research in relevant areas; advising students; and participating in departmental and college service.

New facilities for engineering lab and office spaces will be ready for use in fall 2025.
Required Qualifications: Applicants holding a Ph.D. in mechanical/civil engineering or a closely related field will be considered for a tenure-track position. Master’s degree candidates with extensive experience will be considered for appointments as professors of practice. Ph.D. candidates with ABD status are also warmly invited to apply. All candidates must demonstrate potential for strong classroom teaching and engagement in scholarship.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have demonstrated experience in engineering education and research interests conducive to student involvement. A proven record of teaching and research is desired, as is enthusiasm, experience and energy for contributing to the development of a new academic program. Northwestern College intends to pursue accreditation from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), so familiarity with accreditation will be viewed favorably.
