Nursing Faculty

Northwestern College invites applications for a full-time faculty position (open rank) in nursing to begin in January or August of 2025. The successful candidate can expect to teach courses (including some lab and clinical) in the areas of fundamentals, health assessment, med/surg, gerontology, public health, leadership and other areas as needed. The department is especially interested in candidates who can work collegially and effectively with others in addition to carrying out scholarly activity, student advising, and faculty governance responsibilities. The normal teaching load for this position is 24 credit hours per academic year.

Required Qualifications: Candidates should hold an advanced degree in nursing. Candidates with a master’s degree should be willing to pursue a doctoral degree. The successful candidate will exhibit the characteristics of an effective teacher and a strong ability to engage with colleagues and our undergraduate students. Candidates should have at least two years of clinical experience and a current licensure in Iowa for registered nursing (or eligible for licensure).

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team and will bring enthusiasm, experience and energy to the development of Christ-centered nursing professionals and engage students in their research and scholarly agenda. Hiring preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience.
