Joy and fun
I’m majoring in physical education because of my love for kids. I love seeing the joy on their faces when they are having fun and being competitive at the same time. I feel like the Lord wants to use me to be a light and a blessing to kids in my career.

Self-sacrifice
To be a teacher, you have to be very selfless and self-sacrificial. It’s not about you. It’s about the kids—it’s about adding value to them. Being a servant-leader is never about yourself, so with my faith, I look at Jesus Christ. I see how he was and is the perfect example. He gave himself up for others, and I’ve been challenged to do the same.

Home away from home
Northwestern’s staff and faculty are always willing and ready to serve others. As a student, I’ve always felt wanted at Northwestern. The relationships I’ve gained have been really awesome and key to my life. Northwestern has been a place I can call home.

Every kid can
With physical education, every kid can participate in one way or another. The games vary each day and can be adapted to kids’ needs so they can learn and have fun. I’ve already had the opportunity to observe and teach at the high school level. Being able to bond with the students, get to know their names, and have them be themselves around me was a blessing.
