Dr. Fei is the founding director of the Master of Business Administration program at Northwestern College. Since his arrival at Northwestern in 2016, he has also been serving as an associate professor in the Business and Economics department and is the faculty advisor of the Actuarial Science Invest Clubs.

Dr. Fei obtained his Ph.D. in economics in 2016 from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and has been a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 2022. His research focuses on public finance, corporate finance and economic history. His Ph.D. dissertation explored various impacts of highway construction in the 1920s United States. His paper on federal-aid highways and the decline of general stores won the best paper award at the 42nd annual Economic and Business History Society conference. His co-authored paper, “Are PILOTs Property Taxes for Nonprofits?” was published in the Journal of Urban Economics. He has provided referee and book review services to the Journal of the History of Economic Thought as well as the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy.
