Seventeen Northwestern students to participate in summer missions
Tuesday, May 2, 2023
Seventeen Northwestern College students will spend a portion of their summer as short-term missionaries through the college’s Summer of Service (SOS) program. They will spend five to eight weeks volunteering with mission partners in California, England, Greece, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Kenya, Thailand and Zambia.
Students will work alongside long-term missionaries to build relationships with refugees, Buddhists and Muslims; complete beautification projects; lead Bible studies; and teach English. They’ll assist organizations including Pioneers, Santisuk English School, Poetice, Helping Hands and One Collective.
Since 1981, Northwestern’s SOS program has encouraged and prepared students to be effective Christian servants around the world. Team members raise their own funds through the support of family, friends and their churches.
