Northwestern College to host fourth annual Day of Giving

AllNDay logoNorthwestern College will hold its fourth annual Day of Giving on Thursday, Feb. 18. Titled AllNDay, the event is designed to encourage alumni and friends of the college to be “all in” with their support for Northwestern. The event will include an “Eras of Excellence” competition and lunch-hour challenge.

“AllNDay has proven to be a wonderful way to engage Northwestern alumni and friends in supporting the college,” says Jay Wielenga, vice president for advancement. “It plays a vital role in our fundraising efforts. Last year our Day of Giving raised more than $175,000 for the Northwestern Fund, which provides annual support for student scholarships, academic programs and services that benefit our entire campus.”

This year, anonymous donors have pledged to match all AllNDay gifts up to a total of $100,000, effectively doubling the amount of each person’s gift. In addition, AllNDay donors may use their gift to vote for one of five “Eras of Excellence”: the 1960s and before, the 1970s, the 1980s, the 1990s, and 2000 to the present. Those who give to the era with the most AllNDay participants will win a Northwestern College Bookstore gift certificate.

Another chance to win is the Pizza Ranch Lunch-Hour Challenge, which is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST. Donors who give $50 or more during that challenge will be entered into a drawing to win one of three $100 Pizza Ranch gift cards.

“Our goal is participation,” says Ross Fernstrum, director of annual giving. “Gifts of all size are welcomed.”

Throughout the day, live interviews and visits to campus buildings familiar to alumni from different eras will be shared on the Northwestern College Alumni Facebook page.

AllNDay gifts may be made beginning Monday, Feb. 15, through the Day of Giving website, allnday.nwciowa.edu.
