Hollywood actor to visit NWC

Dan Castellaneta, who is best known as the voice of Homer Simpson, will visit Northwestern College Feb. 27 through March 1. Castellaneta will present a workshop for theatre students Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Allen Black Box Theatre and will perform improvisational theatre with select students Sunday, beginning at 10 p.m. in the England Theatre. Community members are invited to the improvisational performance.

Castellaneta has been voicing Homer Simpson since 1989 and is responsible for creating Homer's trademark phrase, "D'oh!" He also has had recent roles on "Desperate Housewives," "Ghost Whisperer" and "How I Met Your Mother.' He voiced characters in films "Happy Feet," "The Cat in the Hat," and "Joseph: King of Dreams."

This will be Castellaneta's third guest artist visit to Northwestern. In 1999 the college produced Castellaneta's play, "A Purple Dawn."
