Laura Rensink, a senior biology-health professions major from Sioux Center, Iowa, gave a research presentation at the Midwest American Society for Animal Scientists conference in Des Moines March 17-19.
Rensink presented data from a microscopy project in which she evaluated the rate of cell division in the placenta of pregnant ewes at two stages of gestation. Her presentation was entitled "Influence of Maternal Nutrition on Cellular Proliferation Rates of Placental Tissues in Singleton Ovine Adolescent Pregnancies at Day 50 and 75 of Gestation."
Rensink's research was conducted last summer with Dr. Dale Redmer at North Dakota State University.
