GRiT Conference
The NWIA Cultural GRiT Conference is designed to help multicultural students in grades 9-12 "Get Real Together" through leadership, college exploration, and cultural awareness. All students will participate in leadership activities, have lunch with Northwestern College intercultural students, present on their experiences throughout the day, experience form theater, listen to keynote speaker Pedro Ruiz, a Northwestern College graduate, and dance to celebrate the end of the day.
Each student will be placed in a "track," or educational group, that will spend the day together and get the chance to spend time in a college classroom with a college professor. The tracks include:
- Biology
- Business
- Chemistry
- Computer science
- Health
- Theater
- Translation & interpretation
The GRiT Conference is hosted by Northwestern College and the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
