Dr. Jerry Sittser, senior faculty at Whitworth University, NWC Board of Trustees member

Dr. Jerry Sittser, Northwestern's chaplain from 1979 to 1985 and a current NWC board member, has been a faculty member at Whitworth University since 1989. He specializes in the history of Christianity, Christian spirituality, and religion in American public life. Currently he is serving half-time as professor of theology and half-time as senior fellow and researcher in the Office of Church Engagement. He has written eight books, including the bestselling “A Grace Disguised: How the Soul Grows Through Loss” and “The Will of God as a Way of Life.” He speaks frequently at churches, conferences and college campuses across the country.
