The Night of El Gato Negro (a poetry slam)

Northwestern's English department and the Orange City Arts Council present a free poetry slam, inspired by El Gato Negro, the myth about the black cat that chases away the winter. The slam will occur on March 20, the officlal first day of spring, and be followed by a concert featuring Bella Ruse of Minneapolis at 10 p.m.

The slam will feature three rounds and five judges. All poems must be original and under three minutes long. An open mic will be part of the evening. Prizes will be awarded, thanks to the Dutch Bakery, Hands Around the World and the Bike Store.
