The Northwestern College A cappella Choir will perform four concerts in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota March 29 through April 1.

The ensemble’s three-part concert will begin with sacred songs focusing on Christ’s crucifixion and grace, followed by virtuosic and humorous selections, and close with spirituals.

During the first part of the concert, choir members will perform “Lamentations of Jeremiah,” a dramatic and powerful choral selection, and a new arrangement of “Amazing Grace.”

Part two includes “Rotala,” by Juris Karlsons, during which several choir members will perform a Scandinavian dance. Male choir members will also perform “I Want a Girl” with barbershop quartet choreography.

The third part of the concert includes “True Light,” which features a soprano solo, and ends with the choir’s traditional “Beautiful Savior.” Audience members who are alumni of Northwestern’s A cappella Choir will be invited to join the ensemble on their familiar closing hymn.
