Northwestern College will add biophysics and physics education to the majors it offers its students, effective this fall.

Dr. Kim Jongerius, professor of mathematics at Northwestern College, gave a presentation at the Joint Mathematics Meetings, held in Denver Jan. 15–18.

Northwestern's Faculty Honors award, the highest honor bestowed by the faculty, was given to Nnenna Nwaelugo and Matt Scott during the commencement ceremony on May 11.

Northwestern College has approved new academic programs in entrepreneurship and statistics to be offered next fall. The college has also elevated the art therapy pre-professional program to a major and changed the secondary education endorsement to a major.

The scholarly work of 93 Northwestern College undergraduate and graduate students will be on display during the college’s Celebration of Research on Thursday, April 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Rowenhorst Student Center.

Twenty-four Northwestern College academic programs are listed in the 2018 edition of Rugg’s Recommendations on the Colleges, a national guidebook that recommends specific college departments to prospective students.
