Northwestern to host Theatre Preview Days
Wednesday, October 7, 2015
High school seniors interested in theatre are invited to Northwestern College Theatre Preview Days on Nov. 20 and 21; activities start at 11 a.m. on Friday and continue through noon on Saturday.
On Friday, participants will visit a theatre class and tour the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center as well as the rest of campus. They can also ask a panel of current theatre students questions about Northwestern’s drama program, professors and productions. In the evening, students will attend Northwestern theatre’s performance of one of Shakespeare’s classics, “Macbeth,” directed by Northwestern theatre professor Dr. Robert Hubbard.
On Saturday morning, students will meet with theatre faculty and have the opportunity to audition for theatre scholarships. Scholarships are available for performance, playwriting, and technical and stage management roles in Northwestern theatre. Awards are based on candidates’ theatre skill, experience and plans to be actively involved in Northwestern theatre.
Events and meals during the Theatre Preview Days are free; parents are also invited to attend.
