Theatre Patrons membership drive

Northwestern College Theatre Patrons’ annual membership drive is under way. The organization is seeking membership donations by Sept. 17 to support the college’s theatre program and students.

Membership rates for the 2012–13 theatre season are $65 for an “Actor” membership, and $125 for “Actor +1” (two memberships). Patrons can also join at the “Director” ($250) or “Producer” ($500) levels.

All Theatre Patrons are recognized in show programs and receive one (Actor) or two (Actor + 1) pre-paid tickets to the season’s shows. Patrons are also invited to a dinner-and-theatre banquet. Tickets and the banquet are valued at $39.

“Producer” members receive six pre-paid tickets per show, and “Director” patrons receive four pre-paid tickets; both levels also entitle the patron to free concessions. Patrons will be notified prior to each ticketed show so they can call the box office ahead of the general public to reserve their preferred seating to shows.

This year’s theatre season opens Sept. 27 with RUSH, a student dance exhibition. “Trickster Tales,” a children’s theatre production of Native American stories, takes the stage for the general public Oct. 5 and 6. Other theatre productions in the 2012–13 include “Ah, Wilderness!” by Eugene O’Neill; Shakespeare’s “Comedy of Errors”; and “The Winslow Boy” by Terrence Rattigan.

In addition, the season will include one-acts presented by students in directing class, the 18th annual World Premiere Festival, and several student-initiated projects. Details are available at www.nwciowa.edu/nwctheatre.
