Northwestern band presents outdoor concert on Sept. 26

Symphonic Band saxophonistsNorthwestern College will present “A Night at the Movies,” an outdoor concert performed by the Northwestern Symphonic Band, on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m.

The repertoire consists of songs from favorite movie soundtracks, including “Robin Hood,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “The Lion King” and “Schindler’s List,” which will feature a solo from junior saxophonist Ashley Van Ravenswaay, winner of the Ritsema Family Instrumental Scholarship.

The concert will be just north of Zwemer Hall. However, if it rains, the concert will be moved to Christ Chapel. The event is free, and attendees are requested to bring a chair or blanket for seating. Movie trivia will be played, and prizes will be awarded.
