Northwestern College offers visit opportunities for prospective students

A student gives a campus tour to incoming freshmen and their parentsNorthwestern College invites high school and transfer students to visit campus during the 2024–25 school year. Both individual visits and Raider Days (group visit days) serve as an introduction to the college for prospective students.

High school juniors, seniors and their parents are invited to Northwestern’s Raider Days, which provide information and firsthand experiences for students who are in their college search. Dates for this school year’s Raider Days include Sept. 20, Sept. 27, Oct. 18, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6.

While Spanish translation is available upon request for every visit opportunity, a special Raider Day for Latino students and their parents, Latino Raider Day, will be held Jan. 31. A Nursing Raider Day will be held Feb. 7. Raider Days tailored specifically for high school juniors will take place on March 28 and April 25.

Raider Days begin with registration at 8:15 a.m. and conclude between 2 and 3 p.m., depending on individual appointments with staff or coaches. During the day, students and their parents will tour Northwestern’s campus, attend chapel, eat lunch in the cafeteria, and learn about academic and student life at Northwestern. They will also have the opportunity to hear about specific academic programs, financial aid and co-curricular activities. Students have the option of staying in a dorm the night before or after a Raider Day.

Students are also welcome to set up an individual, personalized visit to Northwestern most weekdays or select Saturdays. Students can register online at nwciowa.edu/visit for any type of campus visit. For more information about visiting campus, contact Kara Smit, campus experience coordinator, by phone at 712-707-7119 or email at visit@nwciowa.edu.

“A campus visit is about more than seeing buildings and touring facilities,” says Lori Zomermaand, director of admissions. “It’s about getting a sense of who we are as a Christian academic community and being able to envision if this is the place where you can truly see yourself learning, growing and belonging. We desire to help you discover if what we offer at Northwestern aligns with the goals and passions of your unique journey, and the best way to do that is to experience our Raider family in person. Choosing the college that’s right for you is a big decision. We invite you to visit our campus so we might be able to personally walk alongside you in the steps of that decision.”
