Red Raider Road Race scheduled for Sept. 28

Northwestern College’s 26th annual Red Raider Road Race will take place Saturday, Sept. 28, with check-in opening at 8 a.m. and the race beginning at 9 a.m. A part of the Raider Nation Celebration Homecoming and Parents Weekend, the road race consists of a 5K run and a one-mile walk. The race begins on the boulevard between Christ Chapel and the DeWitt Learning Commons.

Participants can register at www.nwciowa.edu/raider-road-race before midnight on Sept. 26. Registration is $20 for the 5K and $15 for the walk. Participants can also register the day of the race for $25. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Northwestern cross country and track teams, which assist in coordinating the event.

All registered participants will receive a T-shirt and post-race refreshments. Awards will be given to the top female and male 5K finishers, as well as the female and male winners in each age category.

The event is sponsored by the Northwestern College Alumni Association, De Jong Chiropractic, Joiner and Zwart Dentistry, Northwestern Bank, Orange City Area Health System, TNT Promotions Inc. and Van Engelenhoven Agency.
