Northwestern College’s 35th annual Scholarship Auction, held Feb. 10, raised approximately $40,000. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund student scholarships.
Nearly 350 people attended the auction, which was hosted by the Northwestern College Alumni Association. Orange City’s American Legion chapter served a breakfast of pancakes and scrambled eggs as part of the event.
Through both a silent and an audible auction, attendees bid on a collective 365 items. A PGA tournament package, Minnesota Twins tickets, Minnesota and Colorado vacation packages, an Aeron office chair and a Yeti cooler secured the highest bids.
“We had another very successful auction because of the generosity of so many individuals and businesses,” says Aletha Beeson, alumni programs coordinator at Northwestern. “It was fun to see so many supporters of Northwestern having a great time with friends while contributing to student scholarships.”
