Morning on the Green scheduled for Oct. 1
Wednesday, September 21, 2016
Northwestern College’s annual Morning on the Green carnival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, as a part of the Raider Days Homecoming and Parents Weekend celebration. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon and will be located on the campus green near Christ Chapel and DeWitt Learning Commons. In case of inclement weather, the carnival will be moved to the Rowenhorst Student Center.
The public can expect a variety of activities and games, including face painting, trike races, egg relays, marshmallow shooters and an inflatable bounce house. Tickets cost 25 cents each, with most activities requiring two to three tickets. Local elementary students will receive three free tickets that can be used at any booth. Parents of home-schooled elementary-aged children are encouraged to contact events coordinator Aletha Beeson at alethab@nwciowa.edu to receive their free tickets. All proceeds will benefit the various student groups participating in the event.
Lunch will be served in a tent on the campus green from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu includes burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, salad, chips, cookies and drinks. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 6–10. Children under 5 will be admitted free of charge.
