Prospective students invited to attend Northwestern Preview Days

Northwestern College will host 12 Preview Days this school year to provide high school students with an introduction to the college.

Preview Days are open to high school juniors and seniors and their parents, and are an excellent first step for students beginning their college search. The events will be held on Sept. 23, Sept. 30, Oct. 7, Oct. 14, Oct. 21, Oct. 28, Nov. 4, Nov. 18, Jan. 16 and Feb. 10. March 17 and April 21 are Junior Preview Days, specifically for high school juniors.

Preview Days begin with registration at 8:15 a.m. and conclude by 1 or 3 p.m., depending on any individual appointments with professors or coaches. Students and their parents will attend chapel, tour the campus, eat lunch in the cafeteria, and learn about student and academic life at Northwestern. They will also have the opportunity to hear about specific academic programs, financial aid and co-curricular activities. Students have the option of staying in a dorm the night before or after a Preview Day.

Prospective students and their families scheduling a Preview Day visit on Sept. 30 are invited to experience Northwestern’s Raider Days Homecoming celebration on Oct. 1. The Oct. 28 event will also include a Health Professions Preview Day.

“We love hosting high school students on campus so they can experience the Northwestern College community firsthand,” says Laura De Boer, campus visit coordinator. “Our hope is that when students visit our campus, they not only gain information about Northwestern, but they can picture themselves as students here, and that we can help alleviate some of their anxieties about the college search process.”

Students who can’t visit on a Preview Day are encouraged to set up an individual visit any weekday or select Saturdays. For any type of campus visit, students can register online at www.nwciowa.edu/visit. For more information about visiting campus, contact Laura De Boer in the admissions office by calling 800-747-4757 or emailing visit@nwciowa.edu.
